Dear AGAC friends,
<p style="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;">As I was looking for any possible connecting theme for this Sunday, 21 July, I found out interesting facts. I was fascinated to learn that 21 July marks a special day in different parts of the world. In Belgium, it is <i>National Day.</i> In Australia, it is <i>National Lamington Day</i>. In the USA, it is <i>National Ice-cream</i> <i>Day</i> as well as <i>National Junk Food Day! </i>Interestingly, it is also <i> <b>National Be Someone Day</b></i><b>.</b></p><p style="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;">On this day, people are encouraged to take <b>ten seconds</b> to make a difference for good in a child's life. </p><p style="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;">What can you do in 10 seconds? I initially thought there are only a few things we can do in such a short time. But, then, I came to realise that there are many things we can do in 10 seconds! We can water plant. We can wave to someone who looks sad. We can give a smile to someone who looks lonely. We can give a hug. We can comfort. We can register the pain in his/her eyes. We can say how beautiful he or she is. We can praise. And of course, as Christians, we can pray!</p><p style="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;">The ultimate goal of the day is to usher in a future where every child will have a right to a happy and dignified childhood. </p><p style="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;">As a faith community, let’s join them to pray for vulnerable children in the world.</p><p style="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;">Rejoicing in hope,<i style="font-weight: inherit; color: var(--ast-global-color-3); background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);"> </i></p><p><em style="font-weight: inherit; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5); color: var(--ast-global-color-3);">Yukiko</em></p>
