Notes from Yukiko’s Desk
Dear friends in Christ,
Spring will be officially here in Aotearoa this coming week! As winter fades, spring brings a sense of renewal and fresh energy. The longer days, warmer temperatures, and vibrant landscapes can boost our mood and well-being. Spring is my favourite season. By embracing the joys of spring, we can feel uplifted and more connected to ourselves and the world around us. I was really looking forward to spending more time in my backyard.
Unfortunately, however, last Monday I fell in the carpark when I was trying to catch the shopping trolley and sustained fractures of my left elbow. (And I am a left-hander!) I am going to have surgery next Wednesday in Waitekere Hospital. Regarding my work, I will do only what I can manage. Since I cannot drive, I will not be able to do pastoral care visits as usual. Cheen will be assisting in Sunday worship. I will not be able to attend Synod (3-5 Sep) as the surgeon advised me to take a couple of days off after the surgery. I ’m sorry for any inconvenience this may cause to you all. I would appreciate your prayers.
This Sunday at Holy Cross, being the fifth Sunday of the month, we will have John Churchhill sharing what he is on his heart.
Then, a shared morning tea will follow. If you have something to share, please bring them.
In God’s embrace
Yukiko
